A 11 day unforgettable journey to northern Vietnam and Laos takes you through the heart of two diverse and fascinating countries steeped in ancient traditions and complex history.

Your trip begins in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam where you will explore the city’s major landmarks and bustling Old Quarter. Immerse in traditional hilltribe culture and cuisine, while relishing the striking landscapes of Sapa. You then complete your journey with the stunning emerald waters and rugged limestone islands of Halong Bay, cruising aboard a traditional ‘junk’ boat. From here you fly to the charming World Heritage Listed city of Luang Prabang, where you savour its temples, caves and waterfalls, colourful markets, fragrant cuisine and tranquil pace. Then to Laotian capital, Vientiane, exploring its colonial grandeur and majestic Buddhist temples.   • Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

    Welcome upon arrive in Noi Bai airport, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free on your own. Overnight in Hanoi.

  • Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Train to Sapa (B, L, D)

    A full day city tour of Hanoi includes Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his House on Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, the Temple of Literature and the Vietnam Ethnology Museum. After lunch, you will continue to visit Opera House, Cathedral, Ngoc Son Temple and take a cyclo for an hour to visit Old quarter streets followed by the Water Puppet Show. Dinner and take a night train to Sapa. Overnight on the train.

  • Day 3: Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Drogon’s Jaw (B, L)

    Arrival at Lao Cai station 6:00am, you will leave for Sapa. It takes about an hour drive upto Sapa. On arrival, you will have breakfast, then take a walking tour to the hilltribe villages of Cat Cat, home to the H'mong ethnic minority peoples. As you walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, you will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. In the village you have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the area. You will also have chance to enjoy the Dragon’s Jaw, one of the most beautiful places in Sapa. From there you can view the panoramic picture of Sapa.  Overnight in Sapa.

  • Day 4: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Carved Rock Stone Site – Train back to Hanoi (B, L)

    Morning take a walk for a daily market and then set out on our 3-4 hour hiking  through several hilltribe villages of Lao Chai and Tavan, home to H'mong, and Dzay people. Stop for lunch on the way to Ta Van village. You will have chance to see the Carved Rock Stone Site enroute. Back to Lao Cai station for an overnight train back to Hanoi.

  • Day 5: Hanoi – Halong (B, L, D)

    Arrive at Hanoi at 5:00am, you will have a special dish for your breakfast before departing to Halong.  Sip on a refreshing welcome drink upon check in before  beginning cruise through the bay. Lunch served as cruising among hundreds of islets (Dinh Huong islet, Ga Choi – Fighting Cock islet, Dog islet, Finger islet, etc.) to discover unspoilt pockets of Halong Bay and visit Sung Sot cave, one of the most imposing grottos of the Bay. Swim at Soi Sim beach or Titov beach or a short trek to the top of Titov mountain for a magnificent panorama scenery. Enjoy dinner with fresh seafood on board. Relax or chatting with partner, friends, family. Overnight on boat.

  • Day 6: Halong – Hanoi (B, L)

    For early risers complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and cake are served. Visit Luon cave on small bamboo boat paddle by out crew staff and enjoy the quiet atmosphere enclosed by high islets and mountains. Be back to our Huong Hai Junk. Sail past rock formations such as Man’s Head islet, Tortoise islet, Butterfly cave, Lion islet, Bai Tho mountain, enjoy the tranquil scenery as the boat meanders its way through the bay on the way back to Ha Long city, etc.  Check out on boat at around 10.00 am. Enjoy lunch as boat weaves through strange-shaped limestone rock formations. Arrive back at Ha Long city around noon time for disembarkation, return to Hanoi for your overnight stay.

  • Day 7: Hanoi – Luang Prabang (B)

    You will take a morning flight to Luang Prabang. Welcome upon arrival at Luang Prabang airport. Transfer to hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free to explore on your own. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

  • Day 8: Luang Prabang (B, L)

    Transfer to Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa ; the Wat Mai which built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) epitomizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style and the Wat Xieng Thong further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground and the National museum (the former king's palace). Climb up 350 steps to the top of the Phou Sii hill to visit the Wat Phu Sii and enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction and climb up the Phousi hill for overlooking the city. Back to hotel for leisure or shopping at night market, where hundred of Hmong vendors display their handmade handicraft. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

  • Day 9: Mekong River - Pak Ou cave - Weaving village (B, L)

    Take a Mekong Riverboat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the famous & sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves - home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century - overlooking the confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers. On the way back to Luang Prabang visit Por Sa Paper Handicraft & Textile area at Ban Xang Khong. The rest of the day is free at leisure or take an optional trip of an elepand ride in the forest. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

  • Day 10: Luang Prabang – Vientiane (B, L)

    Flight to Vientiane. On arrival, you will visit Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, huge golden That Luang monument,  Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Vientiane.
