Explore Chiang Mai at night on a magical tour and immerse yourself into the local culture with a 3 hour cycling tour in Thailand.

This is a 20 km bike ride with snack breaks and beautiful sites to see all along the way. Chiang Mai city seems never to sleep as you ride through small back roads and alley ways to see the lives of its people. Some fun started just after the sunsets, from a tranquil park where locals practice Tai Chi for their excercise, ancient temples where thier golden spires illuminate at night, to a night market with various type of delicious local food, you will discover the charm of this ancient city like no other.  

 

  • Day 1: Chiang Mai Night Cycling Tour

    When the sun sets Chiang Mai doesn't stop, but it does slow down and the ancient temples with their illuminated golden spires take on a magical feel. See the old town from a different perspective as you cycle through quiet back roads, small lanes and alleyways as the temperatures cool down.  You will start your discovery of Chiang Mai city after the peak rush hour traffic has died down. Chiang Mai is bright enough at night that you can photograph the beautifully lit temples and statues as you learn about the history and geography of this ancient city. Cycling down to the river and take a walk through the evening fresh market, stocked with the most amazing array of fruits and vegetable - delicious, healthy snacks are everywhere. You will call in at a night school and can learn a bit of Thai with the recent immigrants from Burma and Laos. You then follow the river to the famous flower market and we cross the river and head through some beautiful manicured gardens on route to the train station. From here you will head to Tha Pae gate to check out what the locals do for various forms of exercise in the evening. Have a game of badminton, practice your Tai Chi or just people watch for a while.
