A day tour from Chiang Mai to explore Doi Inthanon National Park to the highest mountains of Thailand, ethnic hill tribes, unique flora and fauna and stunning natural beauty.

On this Chiang Mai tour you can cool off on Thailand's highest peak while taking in the beautiful scenic Doi Inthanon National Park.  On the way up you will visit Wachiritharn and Siritharn Waterfalls, the agricultural work at the Royal Project Research Station, the king and queen chedi's, (the best views across the park are found here), and then on to the peak of Doi Inthanon the highest mountain in Thailand. Near the top you will take the Angkha nature walk where you can walk amongst the unique flora and forest that grow at this altitude. There are both Karen and Hmong villages in the bounds of Doi Inthanon and we will see a Karen village on the way down the mountain before making our way back to Chiang Mai.

  • Day 1: Doi Inthanon National Park 1 Day

    Doi Inthanon, at 8,514 feet above sea level is the highest peak in Thailand. It is located 105 km from Chiang Mai and its National Park is one of the most fertile natural treasure troves in all of Chiang Mai province. The invigorating mountain air and the fresh, cool climate make it a rejuvenating break from the city. It is very popular among bird watchers where more than 383 species have been reported.  On this tour you will visit a Karen hilltribe village, the Mae Kland and Wachiratharn Waterfalls, the twin Chedis built by the Royal Thai Air Force to honour their Majesties King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit, and the summit, where you will find the shrine of Chao Inthawitchyanon, the former Prince of Chiang Mai. You will have a short trek in the Park along ‘Michael's Trail.' Lunch on this tour is served at a local restaurant.
